AbeBooks Inc., part of the Amazon.com, Inc. group of companies, is seeking a talented, self-directed Software Engineering Manager to provide strong leadership for a great Engineering Team. In this role you will report to the Director of Engineering and work closely with Product Manager's, Developers, QA Analysts, DBA's, Operations and your peers to deliver an outstanding customer experience. Your resp! onsibilities will include:
- Leading an software development team to build and operate features including product search, inventory management and the website UI
- Becoming a domain expert for your team’s products, features and technology
- Hiring, developing, and motivating a great engineering team
- Contributing to the technical vision, strategy, and product roadmap for AbeBooks
- Recognizing and removing technical, organizational and project roadblocks for your team
- Interfacing with a diverse customer base to understand their needs, priorities, and ocesses
- Proposing and implementing new features and system improvements
- Developing relationships within AbeBooks and Amazon to support your team’s activities
- Prioritizing the work of your team, and building product timelines and roadmaps
