Enova Financial is currently searching for bright, energetic, and talented individuals to join our team; problem solvers and action-oriented thinkers are required. Responsibilities:
- Work in a de-centralized team, building & supporting large transactional databases
- Design and implement database schemata in accordance with Senior Architect directives
- Oversee projects independently while working cross-departmentally to ensure success
- Ensure best practices concerning data security, consistency, availability, & normalization
- Recognize and recommend new modules & third part software to solve needs, performing any necessary evaluation
- Decompose, estimate, & allocate effort, in the execution of large-scale projects
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, & solve complex problems, often within tight time constraints
- Provide guidance & mentoring for other team members
- Provide tier 3 & subject matter expert support to Operations in a 24x7 environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Must be a self-starter with a passion for databases
- 3-5 years experience in database development
- Solid understanding of SQL and database design
- Proven experience designing a transactional database in 3rd normal form
- Experience in a production database environment
- Experience with a stored procedure language
- UNIX or Linux experience
- Additional Skills Considered a Plus: In depth knowledge of PostgreSQL; experience with SANs, especially 3Par; Ruby on Rails; Perl, Python, C, or R; experience leading a team
