Job opening - Senior Java Developer/Tech Lead at OTC Markets (New York, NY)

OTC Markets Group Inc. operates the world's largest electronic marketplace for broker-dealers to trade unlisted stocks. Our OTC Link platform supports an open network of competing broker-dealers that provide investors with the best prices in over 10,000 OTC securities. We categorize the wide spectrum of OTC-traded companies into three tiers; OTCQX (the quality-controlled marketplace for investor friendly companies), OTCQB (the U.S. reporting company marketplace for development stage companies), and OTC Pink (the speculative trading marketplace) -- so investors can identify the level and quality of information companies provide.

We are looking for JAVA developers passionate about coding! Whether you have many years of solid practical Java experience or just a few and looking to hone your skills, you need to have sincere passion for Java programming, very strong understanding of its core concepts and ability to write quality code on schedule.

Responsibilities include:

• Design and develop software solutions and components


• Identify, track and resolve of software defects and issues


• Analyze and tune application performance, with a focus on message throughput and latency


• Provide Level 3 production support


• Interface with users to capture and analyze business requirements


• Mentor junior programmers so they can develop and learn new technologies.


• Evangelize new technology and learning within the company.


• Evaluate new technologies and software products.


• Define and implement proof-of-concepts for proving new technologies and/or architecture patterns.

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.


• Sincere passion for Java programming, very strong understanding of its core concepts and abilit! y to write quality code on schedule.


• Familiarity! with equity trading domain


• Knowledge of some or all of the following technologies:


• Service Oriented Architecture, Spring framework


• Java Messaging, Tibco Rendezvous, JMS, MQ, FIX messaging


• Oracle Coherence Cache


• JDBC, Hibernate, iBatis, SQL, Data Warehousing


• Web development technologies: J2EE, JBoss, Jetty, Tomcat, AJAX, SOAP.


• Source code control (Subversion), build tools (Ant)
