GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


Technology Services within Housing & Dining Services at Colorado State University (CSU) invites nominations and applications for the position of Web & Applications Programmer.



The Department of Housing & Dining Services is responsible for the management, finance, administration, and program development of all University housing.  With 400 full-time and 1,200 part-time staff, we serve 6,000 students, 1,000 families, and over 30,000 annual guests. Housing & Dining Services is part of the Division of Student Affairs at CSU.



CSU is a major state Land Grant University with approximately 26,000 students located in Fort Collins, a city of 125,000 located 65 miles north ! of Denver.  Situated at the western edge of the Great Plains and at the eastern base of the Rocky Mountain foothills, Fort Collins with its ideal climate provides easy access to numerous outdoor activities.


Position Description:


Under the direction of the supervisor of the development group, this individual works as a member of the Housing & Dining Services Technology Services team. This position focuses on maintaining and creating software applications to support the department's business processes.



Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably Computer Information Systems or related field.

  • Three years of experience developing and maintaining business software applications.

  • Proficiency in database design, SQL queries, and stored procedures.

  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and knowle! dge of current web design standards.

  • Proficiency! with Object Oriented Programming concepts.



Preferred Experience and Skills:



  • Demonstrated experience with and ability to successfully manage multiple and complex projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, departments, groups, and members.

  • Experience with development of UIs.

  • Experience programming with the .NET framework.

  • SharePoint development experience

  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other reporting tools.



Duties and Responsibilities:


This individual is part of a team of programmers and will:



  1. Act as lead in maintaining and supporting existing mission-cr! itical applications and interfaces to other campus systems; develop necessary software integration and data exchange with other Housing and campus information systems.

  2. Participate in projects for implementing new software systems including feasibility studies, requirements gathering, alternative analysis, project management, project development, relations with software vendors, user training, conversion of processes and procedures.

  3. Work with area managers and users from all units of HDS to define information and reporting needs. Perform complex analysis of information flows and office procedures and suggest improvements to make better use of information systems.



SALARY AND BENEFITS


Salary range begins at $55,000 annually for a twelve-month appointment with full benefits package.   CSU offers Domestic Partner benefits.
