YCharts is a venture-backed, NYC-based financial information and analysis startup looking for a developer to add to our small team.
We're building a large scale, data heavy financial market research application that has real time components and lots of background processing. We're looking for talented engineers to help us build out this application. Our ideal candidate has a well-rounded background, with experience both in building front-end interactive features and back-end systems. We're not opposed to candidates that have preference between frontend/backend, but some flexibility is ideal. Our process is highly iterative. We believe the best way to test our products, designs and technologies are to launch them quickly and figure out what is working and what is not. Our service is currently built on Python/Django, NodeJS, MySQL, Redis, Amazon EC2/S3 JS/JQuery, amongst other technologies.
Responsibilities
- Wri! te tools and applications to aggregate, process and visualize billions of financial data points.
- Create a high performance, high-availability web infrastructure.
- Build new features, entirely new sections, or improve existing parts of our site.
- Improving the codebase by constantly looking for places to make things faster, cleaner, clearer.
- Have fun, be enthusiastic, speak up.
