Job opening - Technical Program Manager, AWS Bill Computation at Amazon (Seattle, WA)

The AWS Billing team owns and manages a powerful and accurate on-demand computation engine that scales with the business and is highly reliable. Using multi-dimensional input rules, pricing plans and pricing dimensions, the bill computation engine processes billions of AWS usage records, generating real time customer bills. The Bill Computation team is working on new and innovative ways to enhance the computation engine by making it declarative, flexible and scalable. This flexible and highly modular computation engine will support a very large and ever-growing number of complex pricing models with minimal code changes.

We are looking for a talented Technical Program Manager who will effectively collaborate with internal and external customers to define and drive our team initiatives.

Major responsibilities:
  • Drive product defintion and prioritization of Billing features
  • Create detailed functional specifications that meet the business nee! ds of AWS teams as well as external customers and balance business priorities vs. technical constraints
  • Define and maintain a product roadmap that optimally balances business priorities, implementation cost, and project risk
  • Drive and track the entire software lifecycle, from requirements through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Provide effective written and verbal status updates on the product roadmap and key projects to senior leadership and project stakeholders

  • BA or BS in a technical field
  • 4+ years experience working on a software development team (as a developer, QA engineer, or TPM)
  • 2+ years experience managing projects and writing technical specifications
  • Experience building web services and multi-tier systems
  • Track record of successfully delivering high quality projects on time in a fast-paced/rapidly changi! ng environment

  • BS or MS in Computer Sc! ience
  • MBA
  • 8+ years experience working on a software development team (as a developer, QA engineer, or TPM)
  • 3+ years experience managing projects and writing technical specifications
  • Experience with Scrum
