Job opening - Mobile Engineering Manager at Group Commerce, Inc. (New York, NY)

Position Scope:                                         


Group Commerce is seeking an experienced hands-on Mobile Engineering Manager who is committed to consistently learning and adding to his or her skill-set, while supporting and managing a close-knit New York team. We are looking for the perfect candidate to help us deliver offers to more mobile devices - and more people & places.

You should have successful experience managing teams, alongside developing mobile native app and web technologies. While most of our mobile stack is built using web technologies and web development experience is necessary, we also build and maintain native Android and iOS applications. You must have a passion for mobile, and an appreciation for all ! that makes it often great, and sometimes complex.

Responsibilities:   



  • Manage a small team of mobile software engineers

  • Actively mentor your team to help them progress in their careers

  • Ensure proper technical design and documentation

  • Develop project plans to show roadmap to project completion

  • Apply and practice agile development methodologies

  • Oversee and participate in development and maintenance of Group Commerce’s HTML5-based touch framework

  • Oversee and participate in development and maintenance of Group Commerce’s Android and /! or iOS apps

  • Interface with partner companies, i! ncluding Google, Apple, Amazon, Sencha, Twilio, Urban Airship, and Localytics

  • Constantly learn - and share your knowledge - about the mobile ecosystem

  • Proactively recommend process, tool, and development methodology improvements
