Here’s What We Expect From You:

• Lead a team of 4-5 Rails engineers in taking a new product idea from concept through development and beta launch
• Guide a team of extremely talented software engineers of differing levels of experience as they learn Rails (coming from PHP)
• Help our engineers to grow and learn in their own ways while making sure the project remains solid, reliable, and robust
• Facilitate and participate in the collaborative technical design of the project, in everything from coding standards and libraries through overall architecture and data-storage systems
• Apply pragmatic decision making to maximize coding velocity, while ensuring technical design does not suffer

First And Foremost, We Look To You To:

• Enjoy writing something new
• Motivate others into amazing feats of coding on their own
• Set the direction and mold the code base from the beginning of a green-field project (PHP to Rails)
• Have that “Navy Seal” driving force of accomplishing something awesome through setting the example, rolling up your sleeves and diving in yourself with your team

Experience:

• 5-8+ years of experience doing this stuff
• At least 1-2 years as a technical leader or manager
• Experience and knowledge implementing solutions on Rails stack
• Agile software engineering methodologies
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable working within all levels of an organization, including our CEO
• Strong motivation and leadership skills
