Elance is currently looking for that Rockstar Head of Technical Operations who is able to think big picture and yet is a hands-on technical mentor to his/her team. This is an opportunity to completely rebuild our Operations team, the process and the way our overall Ops infrastructure is run. In this role, you will be managing our production environment, as well as corporate IT. You will have the opportunity to create and execute your vision and see it ‘go live’! Your Responsibilities:
- Be a champion for the needs and requirements of Ops
- Recruit, build and manage a small team of System/IT Engineers. Set a high bar for recruiting and team deliverables.
- Lead by example. This is a very hands-on role; you will be in the trenches for at least half of your time.
- Be proactive. We are supporting a mission critical environment built for ! scale. You have to be one step ahead in monitoring, capacity planning, identifying risks and bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to contribute to the continuous refinement of product, software development methodology, internal tools and anything else that helps Elance expand its market leading position
