Job opening - Senior SQL Server Developer with BI Experience at Cross Solutions LLC (Owings Mills, MD)

Our products deliver self service analytics reporting capabilities to enable our customers to improve institutional performance.  The products are comprised of dimensional data warehouses, pre-built integration (ETL) with leading higher education systems (e.g., Oracle PeopleSoft, SunGard Banner and Datatel Colleague), OLAP cubes and analytic reporting capabilities via dashboards, guided data exploration and enterprise reporting capabilities.

POSITION RESPON! SIBILITIES
This position will have responsibility for participating as a technical team member in the implementation of the Bb Analytics Suite. The position will require some on-site work at client locations, but some of the work can be performed remotely. The individual should have deep expertise in Higher Education ERP System Operations work flows and best practices. Specifically, s/he will handle a variety of responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

• Working with the functional lead/project manager and clients to analyze functional specifications to determine the appropriate design to meet client requirements related to configuration and use of Bb Analytics Modules.


• Play the role of technical expert related to analytics functionality, architecture and underlying core technology.


• Perform application configuration and the development of customizations to business rules and data model enhancements withi! n the Bb Analytics application. Specific tasks may include dat! abase development, extraction, transformation and load (ETL) development and OLAP cube development based on specifications provided. The development environment is based on Microsoft SQL Server.


• Develop reports using the standard BI/reporting tools used by Bb Analytics including; OLAP, relational reporting, SQL Reporting Services, and Dashboard development tools.


• Conduct technical training for clients in the Bb Analytics architecture, administration, technical operations and customization techniques.


• Work cooperatively with the Client Services Team to ensure successful completion of implementation and other consulting projects


• Meet or exceed quarterly and annual chargeability and quality of service metrics.

 
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in testing and quality assurance related to products, as required.


• Participate in des! ign and development of pre-built reports and dashboards included with the core product.


• Work collaboratively with Product Development to support product development activities as required.


• Work collaboratively with the Sales team to provide sales consulting support, as requested.
