Job opening - Program Manager - Your 'specs' will enhance our global 'vision' at liveBooks, Inc. (Sausalito, CA)

The Program Manager will be a member of a team that is responsible for driving the definition, development and documentation of liveBooks products, features, websites and infrastructure.  Program management at liveBooks is a hybrid of a few common roles: Product management, project management, designer and a small degree of software and/or data architecture. We are looking for that special kind of person that is technical (probably has been a developer or software architect in the past) but understands and can speak with end-users in terms they relate with. The PM at liveBooks is the bridge between the customer, the developer, the designer and the marketer, at times advocating for each of those interested parties.  It is important that the PM, while technical, also have a great sense of and appreciation for design and aesthetic since liveBooks and liveBooks’ customers are so driven by and demanding of excellent design.  


Resp! onsibilities



  • Stay current with, even ahead of, industry trends to enable innovation of new products and features that will solve real-world problems.

  • Define end-user and infrastructure and systems requirements for all projects.

  • Participate in and, at times, own the design of systems and processes.

  • Develop the information architecture for features and projects as needed.

  • Coordinate and be available for group meetings and calls with teams in the US and Europe.

  • Routinely communicate project status and report to project stakeholders.

  • Lead and drive quick-fix engineering efforts when the need arises.

  • support, marketing, sales and directly with our customers to better understand the product and feature needs of our customers and our industry.

  • the development team to create a project s! chedule or a plan to employ an Agile development process - wha! tever is best for the particular project.

  • the UI and UE designers and drive the entire design phase.

  • the QA team to provide necessary elements for QA planning.

  • the systems administration team to drive server & infrastructure related projects.

  • our customer support team to develop help and support material ahead of releases, including writing some of the material yourself.

  • the development, systems administration and QA teams to plan and execute code releases.
