This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic software developer to work on cutting-edge intelligent systems applied to real operational problems.
Reports To:  Principal Scientist

Sample projects:

• Developing a system that uses ideas from genetics and linguistics to identify the lineage of malware and characterize the attacker


• Processing large amounts of data to learn social networks from a variety of data sources


• Developing a tool and interface that allows novice intelligence analysts to benefit from the knowledge of experts

You will use a variety of technologies, such as machine learning, probabilistic reasoning, cyber security, computational biology, natural language processing, modeling and simulation, databases, and advanced visualizations to support decision-making. You will work in small project-oriented groups with a principal investigato! r/scientist and a senior software engineer. You will also have the opportunity to attend conferences and have your work published.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:  

• Design and implement a variety of AI algorithms and end-user interfaces, primarily in Java or Scala


• Design and implement research prototype software in Java or Scala


• Integrate prototype system involving contributions from multiple teams


• Communicate effectively with supervisor and other team members


• Document progress for status reports and demonstrate systems to customers
