Amazon is devoted to making the user experience as fast, simple, clean, accurate, and authoritative as possible for our customers. We're looking for an experienced software development engineer to bring Amazon's core infrastructure to the next level. You will develop, launch and extend platform functionality, work closely with product man! agement and other engineers to define design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility as well as partner with teams across Amazon to deliver cross group features and projects.
- Candidates must have a strong computer science background: a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science is required along with a minimum of 2+ years of work experience
- Candidates should be experienced in Object Oriented Design, C++
- Passion for optimizing systems
- Solid communication skills and ability to work well in a team are critical
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development process
- Experience in Perl, Mason, Java, Apache
- Experience with reducing latency of enterprise systems
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
