Job opening - Software Developer -- Visualization Application for Location Data at 3D-Location, Inc. (Los Angeles, CA)

Our product, PolicyMap, is a pioneering online mapping and location intelligence tool.  Launched from scratch in 2008, we now have over 300 clients, including agencies of the Federal Government, Fortune 500 companies, major universities, non-profits, real estate firms, and the media.

As we grow, PolicyMap is defining a new product category—providing sophisticated location-based analytic capacity in a highly cost effective, easy-to-use web-based tool.  In our first four years, our team has built a tool with comprehensive data and features, and has established a sizable market presence.  We are now seeking an additional software developer to join us as we take the business to the next level.

We’re looking for someone who likes challenging work, doesn’t need a lot of structure, and can hit the ground running to have a direct hand in the development of all aspects of PolicyMap.  You will play a hands-on role in the design,! development, and implementation of several large and technically complex new features on our roadmap.

In the position, you will write server-side code in Perl, PHP, and Java which pulls geospatial and demographic data from a database feed to Javascript. And conversely, you will write highly dynamic Javascript front end content that interfaces with data-intensive back-end systems.

Our office is in a loft space in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles.  We offer a competitive compensation package, including full health benefits.  We look forward to hearing from you, though no direct e-mails or phone calls please. (We are looking for a local candidate and will not reimburse relocation expenses.)
