Well-established proprietary trading firm with global headquarters in Chicago seeks an experienced, hands-on software engineer to join a small centralized development team. The team is focused on the development of infrastructure and business support services utilizing an agile development approach. The primary development platform is C#. In addition to strong C# skills, a good understanding of object-oriented architecture and design concepts is required. The ideal candidate should be readily familiar with continuous integration concepts, release process, messaging, unit and integration testing concepts and practices. Being familiar with IoC containers and ORM frameworks such as NHibernate would be advantageous.
The candidate will be part of a small group of highly motivated developers responsible for architecting and developing next generation infrastructure to support trading activities. Such infrastructure includes, but is not limited to, UI work! , back end service work, software infrastructure administration, business analysis and requirements gathering, software process definition and refinement. Given the need to work closely with the firm’s front office trading and desk development teams, strong communication skills and a desire / capacity to collaborate with others will be essential.
