We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual with ample systems administration experience, with a focus on Windows. If hired, you would be the fourth person to join our IT team, and will be working in a laid back, casual atmosphere where jeans and t-shirts are the norm.
Specifically, we need someone to be responsible for the care and feeding of about 45 servers (most of which run Windows, some of which run Mac OS X and Linux), the services they’re providing, and the network they’re attached to. Here’s a list of things you’ll be responsible for:
- The security, configuration, monitoring, patching, backups, and regular hardware and software maintenance of servers running:
- Windows 2003/2008/2008 R2.
- Microsoft SQL 2005/2008.
- Mac 10.5/10.6/10.7 Server.
- Security of sensitive data, both at rest and in transit.
- ! Network monitoring, maintenance, and security.
- Configuring, ordering, and deploying new servers and systems as required.
- Contributing to and maintaining IT documentation.
- Assisting other employees with IT issues.
- Infrequent after-hours support as required.
In addition, you’ll need to demonstrate the following:
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Great problem solving skills.
- The ability to work with our team on complex issues.
Experience with the following would be great, but isn’t required if you’re super awesome:
- Linux (networking especially).
- PGP Whole Disk Encryption and Universal Server.
- Kerio Connect.
- VMware.
- The healthcare industry, medical billing, HIPAA, and/or risk adjustment.
