Job opening - Weblogic Manager at The New York City Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications (New York, NY)


  • Manage and set guidelines and standards for support and maintenance of all systems;

  • Providing rapid response to problems;

  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation schedules;

  • Coordinate effectively with production control and operational counterparts and ensure the highest level of application availability;

  • Document operational issues following standards and procedures;

  • Assist QA during testing by monitoring servers and providing feedback on status;

  • Resolve operational issues during development and testing as well as production;

  • Ensure that support staff have all the proper information for deployment and support;

  • Work with development staff to ensure all code matches server software stacks and specifications;

  • Participate in the technical requirements gathering process;

  • Play a significant role in the design of new applications to! ensure maintainability with optimal resource utilization;

  • Mentor junior and mid level staff;

  • Communicate status both verbally and in writing to Project Management staff, executive management, and other stakeholders;

  • Manage special technology projects and initiatives as needed; The position’s responsibilities include commitment to and compliance with the City’s EEO policy.



Hours/Shift: Day - Due to the necessary technical management duties of this position in a 24/7 operation, candidate may be required to be on call and/or work various shifts such as weekends and/or evenings
