SIG is hiring a senior Windows engineer into our Platform Development team. Aligned with a select group of trading desks, this team provides creative and robust solutions to handle the performance and scalability needs of our business. At SIG our windows engineers work cross-functionally with other high-level technical teams and with our trading desk in order to support our server environment and mission critical trading systems.

In this role, you will be a thought leader for all Windows solutions in our trading and non-trading environments! . As a subject matter expert, you will work directly with the business and technology teams to evaluate, define, assemble, test, and deliver standard and custom Windows platform solutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for researching and implementing optimum system performance and stability configurations for our low-latency and high-throughput systems. Your skills in Windows systems and solutions development and your understanding of infrastructure design, management, administration and operational processes will make a direct impact on our systems.

Essential Functions:

In the SIG Platform Development team, you will:



  • Direct, lead and/or partner with team members to conduct solution development projects focused on infrastructure and software systems: hardware, OS and application platforms

  • Work with line of business (LOB) solution teams to assess functional needs and engage in platform solut! ion design

  • Manage lifecycle of solutions develop! ment from pilot to production phases

  • Foster collaboration with the LOB solution teams to gain an understanding of current and future objectives, requirements, software designs and engineering needs

  • Collaborate and partner with architects, software engineers, and technicians to develop/analyze requirements, define solution options, perform studies and implement solutions that meet technical and business needs

  • Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware, software and system platforms

  • Participate in research and evaluation efforts that study and test existing and emerging technologies, produce findings reports and communicate advantages and disadvantages and potential usage opportunities

  • Work with partners, vendors and management to organize and manage product evaluations and proof of concept activities

  • Define and establish best practice engineering principles for solution engineering that inc! orporates advanced techniques for solution evaluation, validation and selection

  • Perform complex and detailed analysis, assessment and reports on hardware and software architectures, configurations and assemblies to understand the low level operation of integrated components

  • Define usage patterns for platform assemblies and publish solution manifests, performance metrics, test results, and recommendations

  • Work with architects and peer groups to define architectural blueprints and solution sets for common usage patterns
