Job opening - Solutions Architect at The New York City Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications (New York, NY)


  • Manage, plan and design solutions of long-term, strategic objectives for shared service offerings and application capabilities;

  • Manage products, technical tools, investments, integrations, standards, and governance applied for each application/solution;

  • Oversee and ensure the delivery of stable, scalable, enterprise-class systems and capabilities to customers that meet requirements and support critical City functions;

  • Manage, plan and oversee the design of systems architecture, core technologies and critical business applications;

  • Identify and design the implementation of core technologies for shared technology services, such as content management systems, application management toolsets, languages/frameworks, software stacks, etc;

  • Work with senior management to make strategic architecture and application technology decisions;

  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture group ! to align tactical solutions with strategic principles;

  • Identify and communicate new areas of strategic planning;

  • Work with development teams to ensure solutions are aligned to the enterprise and solution-specific Architectures; research emerging industry trends;

  • determine industry-wide capabilities which are applicable to local solutions;

  • Manage special technology projects and initiatives as assigned. The position’s responsibilities include commitment to and compliance with the City’s EEO policy.


Hours/Shift: Day - Due to the necessary technical management duties of this position in a 24/7 operation, candidate may be required to be on call and work various shifts such as weekends and/or evenings.
