Job opening - Software Engineering Lead - Integration and Build Tools at Quantcast (San Francisco, CA)

Quantcast is looking for a talented dev-ops engineer who is experienced in version control, build systems and build related tools.  This is a new role at QC and we want to find a leader for this group.
 
This person will be responsible for maintaining the Java build systems across the entire organization, possessing full latitude to define best practices, implement new solutions, and, generally, decide how things are done in this area.
 
Candidates for this role will enjoy working across many teams to make a company-wide impact. The ideal candidate will continuously think of new ways to improve and automate our processes, developing or implementing whatever new tool is best for the job.

Responsibilities:


  • Maintain systems related to the build (currently including Jenkins, the git server, code search and index tools, and artifactory)

  • Maintain and improve our Java build setup (currently using ant/ivy)

  • Investigate new tools and develop extensions/plug-ins to continuously improve our build infrastructure

  • Develop coding guidelines that will serve to improve our code quality from the ground up


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or related field

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Desire to learn and implement new technologies

  • Demonstrated experience with build and VCS systems
  • Experience working with *nix

  • Excelle! nt object oriented programming skills (preferably Java)
