Job opening - Software Engineer at TGS (Houston, TX)

 The Software Engineer in support of Operations for TGS, Geological Products and Services group, is part of team of dedicated professionals responsible for driving development of enterprise-level systems designed to automate and improve business process, reduce cost, and increase revenue related to the production, presentation and sale of well related data to upstream E&P oil companies.  TGS currently has multiple Software Engineer positions available. The Software Engineer should have a working understanding of technology, software development, database design, large volume data storage and manipulation, and general system interaction.  This person provides a solid, reliable technical product for every release.  Diversity and the ability to change focus based on changing business priorities is critical. This position reports the Software Development Manager. 



  • Assist in the analysis of business requirements for software solu! tions. 

  • Design software solutions to meet business objectives as outlined by the Manager/Team Lead. 

  • Develop code utilizing accepted and proven design criteria. 

  • Create high quality web, windows and utility applications for use by global internal and external customers. 

  • Interact closely with Manager/Team Lead on core business and technical development. 

  • Design and set up implementations of internal processing software based solutions. 

  • Assist test team in design of test cases including identification of integration points between disparate applications. 

  • Design new and existing databases. 

  • Participate in documentation of business and technical process. 

  • Attend status meetings, provide feedback, and identify improvements in process. 

  • Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies. 
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.&n! bsp;
