We’re looking for a Software Architect to be a key member of a small, skilled, results-oriented team of developers. We want people who love turning ideas into software and are very good at doing just that.
You’ll be designing and developing REST-ful services in Java and Scala and deploying them on AWS. These services are the core of weather products for web, mobile, in-car, and other “connected” platforms. This is a hands-on role, so you’ll be responsible for designing services, mentoring others on the design, writing code, testing, and deploying the finished services.
Essential Responsibilities and Deliverables:
- Create working, maintainable, fast, scalable Java and Scala services from product requirements and UX/UI designs.
- Solve business needs with short-term deliverables as well as a long-term vision that can guide and evolve existing solutions.!
- Excellent communication with technical and non-technical people
- Quick learner and versatile; be able to handle both back-end and occasional front-end work.
- Keep coming up with cool new ideas, not just be a code monkey.
- Proactive in keeping your skills fresh.
