UC IRVINE IS IN NEED OF A UNIX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR!



SUMMARY:


As a member of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Enterprise and Unix Services (EUS) team, under the supervision of the EUS manager and with guidance from senior EUS, System Administrators:



Operate computing systems, including mid-range and high-end servers, clusters, storage arrays, and workstations, in accordance with accepted best practices; support EUS clients, consisting of faculty, staff, and students, in identifying, configuring, deploying, and operating appropriate hardware and software solutions; work closely with EUS clients to troubleshoot hardware and problems as they arise, in accordance with accepted best practices and with a strong emphasis on the particular needs of each client; provide in-depth support to the OIT Web Content Group by creating web content, writing web applications, configuring web systems, and assisting web users; act as a ! member of the close-knit EUS team, backing up other staff when they are unavailable or require assistance, and transfer knowledge through team meetings, joint projects, and formal and informal training sessions.


Salary: Annual $49,272 - $75,876


Work Schedule:  8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday
