SOFTWARE ENGINEER II
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to join the WatchESPN Product Development team. The Software Engineer II will participate in the development of WatchESPN. This position will play a key role on a multi-functional team focused on delivering the best online live sports service available.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and implement new Java based applications. Develop new features and functionality for existing applications. Support the existing infrastructure and applications, providing diagnosis, analysis and solutions to production support staff. Provide support to product staff by developing functionality needed to create new features for WatchESPN. Identify areas that require improvement and recommend/implement solutions. Interface with external vendors to coordinate the integration of technologies. Implements assigned portions of complete development cycles, including requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Recommends technical decisions for applications and systems. Uses resourcefulness, innovative thinking ,well established analytical techniques and basic organization skills to solve assigned problems. Interacts mainly about sem! i-routine matters with others in the work group and/or with ex! ternal customer contacts mainly at peer levels. Clearly articulates technical findings, issues, risk analysis and outcomes to team members.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years related work experience. Strong experience with Java, Spring, Maven and Git. Must demonstrate solid organization and communication skills. Experience with JMS and WebSphere MQ technologies. Experience with Groovy and Grails. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, indexing strategies, and transactions. Understanding of multi-tier web architectures and OO design patterns and concepts. Familiarity with basic cryptographic concepts, techniques and toolkits. Demonstrated ability to work on a diverse scope of software and database projects requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, and sound judgment. Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. Manage multiple projects within a sh! ort development cycle. Projects are moderate in size and complexity.
