The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) Networking and Security team owns the virtualized networking pipeline that runs right beneath all our customers instances, adding features like security, billing and monitoring as we touch every single packet. We are starting a new development that is looking to reengineer this pipeline so that we can get our virtualized network performance to be that of bare metal whilst allowing a large number of important new customer facing features.
