Global Financial Systems is seeking an outstanding support engineer to assume a critical role in maintaining our back-end tools and infrastructure. You will participate in the design, implementation, and operation of mission-critical processes that are critical to the successful operation of our global financial operations. You'll work directly with our software development teams for delivering the next generation, high available, low latency services. You will also help support and manage distributed software running with Or! acle and MS SQL Server databases for large-scale, performance-critical and highly available distributed systems in a mixed Linux/Windows environment Additional responsibilities include supporting platform infrastructure and systems architecture, including operating systems, hardware/storage configurations, and performance tuning using system calls, memory management, and program debugging. Successful candidates will be able to rapidly troubleshoot complex technical problems and provide technical details, as well as accurately assess and mitigate risks.

• Experienced in the maintenance of multiple large, complex software systems with exceptional problem solving, organization, and communication skills.
• Strong scripting skills in Perl or similar language
• You should be comfortable with OOPL such as C/C++, proficient in the Unix environment, and fluent in SQL and RDBMS (Oracle) concepts.
• Experience with network debugging and SQL query performance ! tuning a plus
• You must be able to work independently a! nd collaboratively in a loosely structured yet demanding environment.

• Experience with distributed transaction-processing systems, financial accounting concepts, or asynchronous messaging technology is a big plus.
• A college degree or equivalent experience is required
