Job opening - Sales Engineer East at Instructure (Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Philadelphia, PA) (telecommute)

We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer (SE) to work with our Region Sales Directors in the field to develop account-gaining strategies and provide required product sales support to close business successfully. Sales Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force.  SEs are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for Canvas.

Ideally, the SE will live in the East region. 

What you will be doing: 
This is a technical position. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users (equally talented in telling a story to our business users as well as credible in-depth technical discussions with technology experts). Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts an! d develop/position solutions to address concerns. Must be able to establish strong relationships early in the sales cycle.

In other words, you are...
- Responsible for development and delivery of product demonstrations
- Responsible for representing the product to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc
- Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs (experienced Sales Engineers are successful at addressing client needs during very competitive RFI/RFPs)
- Convey customer requirements to Product Management teams
- Travel throughout sales territory (currently the U.S., expanding into Canada & Latin America) 
- Successful conceptualizing and communicating about how products and services affect opportunities and sales exposure within an organization
and the education space
- Responsible for performing customer needs assessments and solution finding sessions
- Comfortable in designing and delive! ring product presentations based on each competitive sales con! dition
