About Urban Cargo
Urban Cargo is charged with the noble task of helping men look good, so they can focus on more important things like saving the world. For $12/month, we send men a box of handsome filled with skincare and hair care products that help them look more like James Bond and less like a caveman.
The 3 co-founders met while working on the men’s business at Coach and are using that experience to make grooming more male-friendly.
We’ve had great traction to date including coverage in the Huffington Post. We launched our prototype in November and have been accepted into the 2012 NYC DreamIt Accelerator program, which was covered in Forbes, TechCrunch and Business Insider among other publications.
Project Description
Our prototype was launched as a simple Wordpress site with a Volusion shopping cart attached, which are built on PHP and ! ASP.net, respectively. We’ve worked with freelancers up until this point, and we’ve outgrown our current site. That’s where you come in.
As the lead engineer, you’ll be able to build Urban Cargo from the ground up, with full control over front-end and back-end implementations.
The goal for the platform is to offer a superior customer experience, boost sales and provide a long-term vision of offering tailored product recommendations and auto-replenishment capabilities.
Our website is the integral piece of our business, and we need your help to build it.
