Job opening - Application Performance Monitoring Engineer at Pearson (Austin, TX)

The role of Application and Performance Engineer requires a keen attention to detail in support of mission-critical web application performance and availability.  This position requires a strong background in application monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning.  Since this position works very closely with the business, customer support, product operations, and development, well qualified candidates will have demonstrated strength in communicating highly technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.  Experience with Java monitoring tools, large-scale data analytics, and dashboard creation is strongly recommended.



Responsibilities:



  • Create monitoring solutions for essential web-based applications

  • Analyze performance problems in complex Java applications and suggest remediation strategies.

  • Assist in the Incident Management Process by reviewing production data and providing analysis on custome! r-impacting incidents

  • Assist in the development of application standards (coding, logging, performance)

  • Create dashboards for executive review based on monitoring data from various sources

  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and response of various alerts to support product operations

  • Administer application performance monitoring tools

  • Investigate new approaches for application monitoring based on examining new technology emerging in the market
