Front-end (HTML5/CSS/JS) gurus required at fast-growing e-commerce start-up

At UrbanTouch.com, we are building the next generation e-commerce platform that scales to tens of thousands of orders a day, is insanely fast, and makes the overall online shopping experience a breeze, so brick and mortar stores will finally become a thing of the past.

We are looking for exceptional web developers/front-end programmers who can write code, and write it well (there is no QA team to fall back on!). We rarely do anything twice. We expect you to tinker, and we expect you to be the best.

Our frontend will use javascript/jquery/html5, we need programmers who would test their own code and can wear multiple hats.

A cross-discipline mindset is a must.

Responsibilities

Help design and implementation efforts of user interfaces for the technology team
Ability to create visually appealing, yet user-friendly web page interfaces and UI prototypes
Apply user-centered design process to create quality user experiences
Design and implement scalable front-end applications using web standards
Build scalable UI frameworks using current web technologies (HTML5/CSS3)
DOM manipulation for interactive and responsive interfaces
Lead Software Design initiatives

Requirements

Solid understanding of user experience principles
Working experience with design tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Visio, etc.
Demonstrate proficiency in HTML/CSS
Proven success executing UI design
JavaScript/AJAX/JQuery
Experience integrating front-end web interfaces with back-end server applications
Knowledge of *nix environments
Experience using versioning software (git or svn) is a plus
Knowledge of server-side javascript (e.g. Node.js) is a plus
