Now Hiring Senior Product Engineer (PHP) for a gamified e-learning application

Edvento.com is a socially adaptive, GMAT / GRE  test prep platform which provides an interesting, gamified interface to make learning a fun experience. It is backed by a Founder team comprising of IT-BHU / ISB / IIM alumni. Now it is looking to hire its first employee outside the Founder team. 

It is an exciting time for us at Edvento. Our product is already under Open Beta (http://www.edvento.com/ , https://www.facebook.com/myedvento) and getting good response. As we go out of Beta, we are looking at some cool features for v2 of our product and also strengthen our code base. Further along, we  have an exciting roadmap ahead which involves making a solid platform for giving us content breadth and implementing machine learning algorithms to give us a powerful adaptive learning product.

We are proud to say that all development! on the product has so far been completely in-house. The Founders have had completely hands-on approach in building the product. Though we are in a very nascent stage of our company's life, we can go out on a limb to say that we WILL build an all-star development team and continue to have a proud ownership of the product. Hence, the development effort WILL NOT be just about pushing swathes of boiler-plate code, NOR will it be just about shifting images by 10 pixels. We want to keep development and product as the main focus of the Company. We are looking for a developer who is equally excited about building products and having fun time while at it.

Minimum Technical Requirements:

1. Good knowledge of LAMP stack
2. Experience in AJAX architecture and advanced javascript (with jquery, json)
3. Desirable to have worked on MVC architecture (e.g. CakePHP) for web technologies

Profile 

1. 2-3 years experience in web technologies
2. Preferable to have an educational qualification and/or professional course in web technologies and Computer Science
3. Apart from hard skills in above mentioned technologies, we would highly value a candidate who has had experience in contributing to Open Source projects and/or has a previous experience in building web-apps.
4. As the product will undergo a code base strengthening, a knowledge of possible architectures, performance considerations and code refactoring will be a big bonus for a candidate.

We are currently a bootstrapped company and are simultaneously looking at raising funds. Needless to say, our very-first employee will also get a stake in the Company apart from cash remuneration.
