We are looking for full-time developers to join a small internal development team and work closely with our external development partners. We’ve structured the team as an early-stage startup within TEECOM itself. In effect, it’s a startup currently funded by a successful and stable parent company. As a part of the larger organization we have a real office space, full benefits and competitive salary. So while we can’t offer equity at this time (though we hope to in the future), we can offer the best features of a larger organization while maintaining the startup mindset.
You’ll primarily be working to develop and quickly prototype software, both client-side and server-side with the opportunity work on some side projects that may include prototype hardware as well. Sometimes we’ll need a quick hack, and other times we’ll be carefully considering the long-term implications of our design choices. We’re focused on iOS for t! he client app and we’re putting together our server in Ruby-On-Rails so knowledge of one or both of those is a must.
As an individual, you’re passionate about technology and feel equally at home in a no-frills text editor and full-blown IDE. You’re interested in solving practical programming challenges of all types and aren’t tied to a single platform or operational paradigm. You’re comfortable using the command line as well as graphical tools and you regularly learn new things on the fly.
We’re not hugely picky about experience and we’re not looking for a specialist. We’re prioritizing attitude over esoteric skill with the expectation that you’ll learn what’s necessary as you go. This is a small team and you will be critical in shaping the direction, tools, and ultimate outcomes of the projects you work on.
