Tumblr has an immediate need for senior level platform engineers to help build out our service infrastructure. We are seeking someone who is passionate about highly optimized, high throughput, distributed service development who can help us support our growing user base. If sub 5ms latency, 100k+ requests per second, highly available service infrastructure is what you’re good at then continue reading. In this role you’ll be responsible for helping design, architect, build and support a set of distributed services responsible for supporting millions of users and billions of posts. We will not be using much off the shelf software, so preference will be given to people with meaningful open source contributions and familiarity.
