Location: New York, NY
The Application Developer, as part of a team focused on both open source and proprietary technologies and will develop and support solutions across numerous platforms. The primary responsibilities will include PHP, JavaScript, and T-SQL development, Apache administration, planning, testing, execution of deployment, promotion to production, performance tuning, proactive daily checks. This position will require communication and coordination with technical and, at times, non-technical staff in order to deliver solutions in support of the mission of the Digital Media group at the museum.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with Digital Media staff to support open source solutions in a secure, manageable, and scalable manner
- Implementation and administration of WAMP and LAMP solutions
- Recommendation of best practices to establish or improvements to operational processes and procedures
- Installation, maintenance, tuning, and backend support Apache on Windows and Linux
- Installation, maintenance, and backend support of Drupal CMS on Windows and Linux
- Installation, maintenance, and backend support of MediaWiki on Windows and Linux
- Development of MediaWiki extensions
- Development of PHP, .NET and MySQL solutions
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in development and application support, including:
- Installation, maintenance, and support of Apache platform on Windows and Linux
- Experience supporting Drupal CMS on Windows and Linux
- Experience supporting of MediaWiki on Windows and Linux
- PHP, JavaScript Development
- T-SQL Development
- C# .NET a plus
- IIS Administration a plus
- Experience with Memcached, CodeIgniter, Nginx a plus
Knowledge and Education
· Bachelorâs Degree or equivalent experience required
