Required:
- 4 years minimum experience with Ruby
- BDD (RSpec)
- Strong Git fu skills
- 3 years minimum with JS (jQuery), HTML, CSS
- Experience with MongoDB, Redis & MySQL
- Amazon AWS, EC2, S3
- API development and integration
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic sysadmin skills
Preferred:
- Experience with PHP
- Good understanding of web architecture, caching, query optimization and performance tuning / some system administration experience
- Experience with and contributions to open source software
- HTML5 Experience
- CoffeeScript

- Designing and developing applications using Ruby and Ruby on Rails (RoR), with code that lives up to your own coding and documentation standards!
- Participating in all phases of our software development life cycle to convert concepts and specifications into released web applications and websites
- Writing and testing your code using behavior driven development
- Integrating new and existing code with various 3rd party platforms and APIs
- Identifying the best tools (or Gems) for the job, along with the best team member for that job
- Being the technical leader of a remote team of developers, mentoring and guiding each such that they grow professionally, and succeed in releasing products on schedule
- Interfacing with the Business side, to understand and provide a technical POV on goals, products and strategy
- Working with the Sys Admin to look for ways to strengthen and streamline the architecture for the optimal balance b/ween performance and cost, as well as prioritize the Sys Admin’s workload
- Exposing the team to new technologies and coding practices via webinars, physical conferences and/or dedicated “Cutting edge technology†meetings, or code-a-thons, so Devs stay sharp and engaged
- Producing accurate project estimates and effectively communicating any delays in progress
You must be able to show and explain some real world code that you have written.
