Universum is the global leader in Employer Branding with over 1,200 clients and operations in 13 countries. We are making a big investment in the next generation of Online Job Recruiting and are looking for a RoR Team Lead in NYC.

You will lead the design, development and operations of a new Ruby on Rails application that aims to change how young professionals connect with employers and find relevant career information. Think Quora in the career space. 

The product will launch in two months but we already have hundreds of employer and university partners. This is a unqiue opportunity to build something new while also leveraging an existing customer and user base.

Job Description Skills & Requirements

We're looking for someone with a strong commitment to engineering excellence and a drive for continuous process improvement.

• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Strong grasp of the full stack of web technologies
• Significant experience developing and software with Ruby/Ruby on Rails applications for large scale automated deployments
• Interest in working as part of an iterative, collaborative, Agile software development process
• Strong understanding of modern client-side engineering techniques using JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Worked with cloud technologies (AWS, Heruko, etc)
• Very comfortable in a Linux environment (shell scripting, cron jobs)
• Start-up experience a plus!
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
