Job opening - DevOps Engineer (VC funded startup) at Shopply.com (Redmond, WA)

At Shopply, we’re using technology to simplify online shopping. We're 2nd time entrepreneurs who have raised funding from venture capital and successfully exited an e-commerce business. We're Stanford MBA alums and we've worked at Microsoft (Live Labs), eBay, McKinsey, and Accenture. Shopply is currently in stealth and we’re targeting a big ($30+ billion) and growing market. We’re now in private beta, generating healthy revenue per user, have filed a patent for our technology, have over 5,000 retailer relationships, and are financially backed by top tier investors.

As we move from stealth mode towards a public release, we’re looking for an engineer to focus on DevOps, Test and Feature Development. This role will be responsible for working across all tiers of our stack, which includes onsite and cloud based environments, and is a great opportunity to work with seasoned engineers on the latest technologies.

You’l! l…

  • Test – We’re constantly improving our code – whether it be by achieving higher code coverage, building end-to-end test suites, or building synthetic transactions to test our live code paths, you’ll be a core part of making sure we ship solid code.

  • Remediate –You’ll be responsible for tracking these down, working out why they occur, and squashing them. This means you’ll get to touch every part of our stack, get to know every line of code, and check-in production fixes.

  • Automate – You’ll help automate server deployments, our build pipeline, and anything else we can write a driver for!

  • Feature development – Every engineer at Shopply is responsible for shipping code, and as a startup, we have more ideas than coders, so you’ll also write features. You’ll work! with senior engineers to design, develop and release producti! on features, including exploring new algorithms/technologies.
