Overview:

We’re looking for that rare developer who can transcend all positions related to the user experience on the Web. From working with designers and developers, to marketing and product development, you will be the glue that puts it all together. You will work with dedicated team members on high-trafficked, brand-named sites like eHow, LIVESTRONG and Cracked--integrating and building rich, fun interfaces. You'll get to work with APIs like Facebook and Digg, build cool sliders, galleries, and see projects come to fruition within weeks. At Demand our teams are fast and agile, where you see the direct impact of your work on revenue. Are you up for the challenge?

You:

• Have been building, tweaking and extending Web sites or apps for at least five years and are proud of what you’ve creat! ed


• Have a very strong foundation in (X)HTML and ! CSS


• Have solid JavaScript chops (we use and love jQuery, but we’d love to find someone who understands JavaScript in it’s own right as well)


• Regularly defeat cross-browser bugs and know how to handle the dreaded beast that is IE 6


• Are energized by the idea of building products that scale (think in terms of millions and billions of interactions)


• Regularly use server-side template languages such as Python (Django, Jinja) PHP (building your own WordPress themes, Drupal), JSP, Expression Engine or Ruby on Rails


• Have working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, including the ability to efficiently slice and dice layered files


• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills that you use to discuss decisions and document coding styles and practices

Responsibilities:

• Convert PSD’s into clean and easy to ! maintain HTML, and CSS.


• Create intuitive, robust, and reusable user interfaces with JavaScript.


• Participate in the design and development of new UI functionality for web applications.


• Find solutions for cross browser issues in both HTML/CSS and JavaScript.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge with HTML and CSS  to create tableless websites that adhere to web standards.


• Intermediate skill in Photoshop. Cutting up PSD’s and optimizing images.


• Enjoy being an important member of our fun, fast paced, energetic and very agile team


• Familiarity with development in a PHP environment.


• Strong JavaScript OO skills and ability to write JavaScript with / without use of libraries. jQuery is a plus :)


• Knowledge with version control and bug tracking systems. ( Specifically SVN is a plus )

Experience with AJAX technologies and techniques.
