Pinchit is an early stage VC-backed startup pioneering a new way to share and discover city experiences. We're currently in alpha and have over 100K signups already. We're looking for a founding level engineer with advanced Ruby on Rails experience to get in on the ground floor and roll out a beautiful product with us that has the potential to grow to millions of users and change the world.
Our goal is to create an online "scrapbook for your city" to help people share and discover the best city experiences like things to do, eat, drink and see. We believe we're primed to make a dent in an emerging multi-billion dollar local commerce space by combining beautiful design with community and relevance to help people expand and enrich their lives.
We’re based in San Francisco in the Mission District, surrounded by amazing restaurants and right across the street from the bar! t station. We're a small, experienced team with previously successful founders. We practice "work hard play hard" on a daily basis and do whatever we can to create the dream work environment - daily catered lunch and dinners, massages, team excursions - we've committed to all go skydiving after launch. We're hugely inspired by the tremendously positive early feedback on our alpha and iterating rapidly to get out a product that we believe can influence millions of people and change the world.
Requirements
As a founding-level engineer you will help us push the boundaries of what is possible and pioneer a new way to share and discover experiences. You should be passionate about design, comfortable working at all levels of the stack, and comfortable iterating and shipping fast.
Qualifications
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Scienc! e
- High proficiency in Ruby on Rails
- Experience with MongoDB or similar document-oriented data stores
- Expert ability to get things done on a small team
- You take an iterative approach to building software
- Strong communication skills and understanding of the product
