At Topps, we're taking a brand iconic in sports media with a rich offline tradition and building from scratch an entirely new way to connect with consumers on the web. We’re a start-up within the walls of a company with 60 years of history and relationships tasked with re-imagining the Topps brand and creating a new space in the sports media universe.
We want a true entrepreneur developer comfortable at all levels of the stack helping consumers find new ways to enjoy and interact with sports, teams, players and the Topps brand. If you're a self-starter who loves the notion of working on a small team without legacy infrastructure on everything from setting up servers to pushing code to production, we want to talk.
Here’s the position you’ll be playing:
· Create the technology stack for topps.com
· Implement clean, elegant user interfaces
· Dream up new features and functionality and build it
· Help build a collaborative and creative culture
· Define the tech DNA of the company
These might show up on the back of your engineer baseball card:
· A degree in computer science or related fields or equivalent experience
· Familiarity with one or more popular web frameworks such as Rails, Django, CodeIgniter or similar
· Examples of sites that you've worked on or built
The kind of player we’re looking for has:
· Interest in contributing to open source projects
· Good instincts and willingness to use data to drive decisions
· Desire to participate in industry conferences and events
· Discomfort with the status quo
· Comfort with change of direction
· Bias to action
