The Epistemic Game Research (EGR) group is a research collaborative with approximately 40 scientists, researchers, staff, and students in a multi-disciplinary research group spanning 6 academic departments and 4 institutions, plus additional research sites, with funding from multiple NSF grants.
The EGR collaborative develops epistemic games as the technological infrastructure for a new, more motivating, and more inclusive approach to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education a decade or more in the future, where students are motivated to learn STEM concepts because they play computer games based on STEM professions.
The position of Epistemic Games Technology Manager ensures a reliable development, delivery and analysis technology platform for the educational research projects of the EGR Group. The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker who can participate in and manage a! development team. The position works closely with the EGR Director and Director of Programs and Partnerships and collaborates with principal investigators and project leads from multiple projects and academic institutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical, problem solving, communication, listening, leadership, and, most importantly, technical acumen in order to implement the complex ideas generated by the EGR group.
