Job opening - core software developer at seed-stage startup at ShopTap Industries - The Hunt (San Francisco, CA)

Come work as a core engineer at a small, feisty startup.

We’re looking for an additional software developer to help build our web app, The Hunt, which is just entering beta testing (http://startthehunt.com).

The Hunt is where to shop when you know what you want but not where to find it. It is for finding products that match the style, trend, inspiration or actual items in any photo that you see. The Internet has become dominated by image-based websites, but there is very little metadata around the images. The Hunt is designed to help consumers identify the products within images and purchase them while simultaneously constructing a new ontology around these images.

The engineer we are looking for is obsessed with building world-class web applications, can crank out features and find/fix bugs fast.

You need to be able to work independently and autonomously but priori! tize the needs of the company and the team.

- We focus on efficiency and productivity, with a goal to deliver the best possible minimum feature set in each iteration.

- We value creativity and good design.

- We are a Rails shop.

- We write stories for features and practice TDD.

- We deploy to production several times per day.

- We encourage discourse and open dialogue.

- Goals, responsibilities and milestones are transparent across the entire company.

- Each engineer owns features front-to-back.

As one of the first engineers, you will have a huge impact on company culture.

We are a seed-financed startup based in downtown SF and comprised of a small team of 4 people.
