Job opening - Java Software Development at Children's Hospital Boston (Boston, MA)

Children’s ISD is looking for experienced software developers to participate in the development of a quality improvement software product. SCAMPS, Standardized Clinical Assessment and Management Plans is a software product designed to collect and analyze clinical decision data to standardize care in a fast-evolving clinical environment. The Information Systems Department (ISD) at Children’s Hospital Boston is looking for strong back-end developers with a breadth of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience to assist in the advancement of the product.

Summary:

The position will be responsible for the development of enterprise, clinically focused, web services. The services will be designed for enterprise use with a strong emphasis being placed on the principles of reuse. The applicant will be expected to be able to decipher complex clinical database schemas, understand clinical terms, comprehend clinical algorithms, a! nd develop scalable and secure back-end services.   The back-end services will be developed using Java technologies and will need to be compliant with the overall Service Oriented Architecture being implemented within Children’s Hospital Boston.

We are looking for candidates with a diversity of skills in designing and implementing Service Oriented Architectures. The candidate should be both experienced and comfortable in designing and implementing all aspects of Java based services. The ideal candidate will be one looking to become an integral part of an innovative and collaborative team, who truly enjoys working in the health care sector.

Requirements:

Strong Java Fundamentals

JEE Development Experience
XML Experience

Web Service Experience (SOAP & REST Architecture)

Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) implementation and configuration experience

Familiarity wi! th: WS-Security

     &nbs! p;                  WS-Authentication

                        WS-Authorization

                        WS-Addressing

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
