Director of Engineering

This individual will be a key member of Numenta's engineering team. He or she will manage the team responsible for our next generation streaming data analytics platform, and provide general technical leadership across the organization. The ideal candidate will be familiar with data intensive or real time clustered systems, and have excellent programming skills. The position is expected to be a mixture of hands-on development and management. The position is full time, and offers competitive salary, full benefits and participation in our stock option program. It is based in downtown Redwood City, CA.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage the team developing the Grok data analytics engine


• Work with product management, web team, and solutions to define the development roadmap


• Identify and address performance issues and scaling bottlenecks

• Manage the evolution of Grok’s data analytics architecture


• Implement coding guidelines and testing processes


• Work closely with infrastructure team in evolving our continuous integration/deployment pipeline


• Recruit additional engineers as the company grows


• Provide technical leadership to the rest of the organization
