HillSouth is a technology firm based out of Florence, SC.  Our departments include Web Design, Application Development, iT Solutions, and Document Management.  We have been in business since 1999 and we are growing at a tremendous rate.  We are a young motivated group of about 20 employees who take pride in providing innovative business solutions to our clients. 

HillSouth is looking for a rock star Ruby on Rails Developer that understands the entire stack and can contribute to any part of it. We’re very focused on user experience and the interface, so a keen understanding of javascript and front-end technologies is a must.

We’re looking for someone with at least 2 years experience with:

• Ruby on Rails
• Linux/Unix (RHEL/CentOS)
• General web development: HTML (5), JavaScript, CSS
• Testing (TDD/BDD/CI)
• Version control (Git)

Experience with any of the following would be nice to have:

• Key-value stores like Redis, Cassandra, Memcached, Riak.
• Document-oriented databases like MongoDB, CouchDB.
• Message-oriented middleware systems such as ZeroMQ, Resque, ActiveMQ, or RabbitMQ Understanding of server virtualization.
• Understanding of fault-tolerant service architecture.

 

In the past 6 months our projects have used: Ruby, Rails 3.1, JRuby, IronRuby, Sinatra, MySQL, MSSQL, Redis, MongoDB, Memcached, jQuery, CoffeeScript and ZeroMQ.
