OkCupid Labs is working on some top-secret dating products, and we're looking for entrepreneurial, free-thinking, systems-distributing hackers to join our team. Come work with the OkCupid founders on very open-ended, exciting new projects. There is tons of room for creativity, expression, and impact on eventual products in this role.
We are now language agnostic. We need talented, open-minded programming generalists to help us build Web applications atop an open-source stack, wish languages such as Go, Java, Ruby, Python, PHP, or JavaScript (in node.js). We are building a new team and a new platform from scratch, so get in on the ground floor.
Looking For
Strong experience in Ruby, JavaScript, PHP, Python and/or other scripting languages.
Strong experience with a compiled language, like C++, Java, Go, or C#.
Experience with SQL, NoSQL and/or other disk-resident storage
Experience debugging strange networking and kernel bugs
Deep experience with distributed systems, RPC programming
Experience with Web technologies, like HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Ability to conceive of and engineer new Web features
Familiarity with programming for mobile platforms and/or other JSON APIs.
