Job opening - Sr. Server Developer at Cequint (Seattle, WA)

Cequint is actively developing the next generation of a broad mobile technology that will revolutionize the way people communicate via mobile devices.  This confidential project is a large undertaking with executive visibility that will serve tens of millions of mobile users, and promises to fundamentally transform the mobile landscape.

We are both dynamic and stable.  We run like a startup but are part of a $500 million company.  We provide carrier-grade mobile services solutions to tier-1 and tier-2 domestic mobile carriers. We have products in market that are making money, and a lot of it.  Our latest project is a large undertaking with executive visibility that will serve tens of millions of mobile users, and promises to fundamentally transform the mobile landscape.

Qualifications and Experience

• 7+ years of software development/engineering experience


• 5+ years of Server-side Java including multi-threading, concurrency, etc.


• Proven experience working on complex projects which span more than one major revision and preferably will have had involvement in at least one project from inception through deployment


• Application Server or Servlet containers


• Experience with Spring Framework, RESTful and SOAP services.


• JUnit, Subversion, Linux.


• Experience with databases, Object Relational Mapping and SQL


• Motivated by delivering great products that tens of millions of people use


• Able to self-manage, take ownership, and thrive in a dynamic, small company atmosphere


• A pure technologist with a strong grasp of OO and computer science fundamentals

Some previous professional experience required...we care mor! e about what you can do than where you’ve been (and for how long)

• Inherent smarts and ability to research new approaches and technologies


• Strong desire to collaborate and build large-scale, high up-time systems that run fast across multiple data centers


• Ability to carve off a piece of functionality, own the analysis and breakdown, propose the design, code it out, and unit test it


• Flexible use of various software development lifecycles and experience with deploying services into production environments


• Solid communication skills in the English language


• Natural problem solving and critical thinking ability

Bonus Points (by no means required):

•      Previous experience with things like the mobile ecosystem, 3^rd party integrations, large-scale web services, Maven or  Spring Framework i! s a big plus
