We are looking for a Senior Developer Engineer (Ruby on Rails) with solid understanding of Agile process and test driven development to lead our enterprise platforms for a leading financial /Insurance company in Chicago.

This is a Contract for hire, Full time position(40 hours a week) and an immediate requirement. Telecommuting option 1 or 2 days a week (Illinois residents) . Flexible hours, great work environment and a lot of room for growth.

Qualifications

·         10+ years of professional experience designing, architecting, leading enterprise solutions development in the software 

space.

·         Strong knowledge and hands-on multiple years with Ruby development (Ruby on Rails).

Responsibilities :

·         You will lead and collaborate with multiple software development teams, in a fast-paced iterative and collaborative 

environment as part of the agile development process, working with talented engineers and ensure goals and requirements of the 

business are met.

·         Define, enforce and protect development practices and help define strategy and ensure teams are leveraging enterprise 

standards.

·         Manage offshore, onshore and in house team development teams.

Required skills:

·         Expert in Ruby on Rails development (RoR), Agile Software development and Test DrivenDevelopment (TDD) skills

·         Experience with remote SSH work (Constant Skype interaction, TeamViewer pair programming)

·         Strong with Unix/Linux shells (bash, sh, zsh, etc.) and scripting them

·         Must be an energetic self-starter and team player with strong time management skills with the ability to lead a team . 

Desired skills:

·         Prior experience with .NET or J2EE platforms

·         SOA: RabbitMQ Padrino JSON Rails 3.2,IIS,SOAP,REST

·         GUI: Twitter Bootstrap, Backbone.js CoffeeScript jQuery 

·         DB: MongoDB, Postgres, MS SQL, MySQL
