Rails Developer
We’re looking for a seasoned Ruby on Rails developer to join our engineering team. We need someone who:
- takes pride in the craftsmanship of their code and can back it up with bulletproof tests
- can take a project from concept to completion, either on their own or as part of a team
- can find elegant solutions to complex problems that will work on a large scale
- has an appreciation for iteration, fine-tuning, and finding and fixing issues
More than anything we need someone who wants to help artists make a living doing what they love. Big Cartel is home to nearly 200,000 clothing designers, bands, jewelry makers, crafters, and other artists. You’d have a direct hand in creating the simple tools they use, ! and your work would be viewed by millions each day.
Along with solid experience with Ruby and Rails, we’d give you a big gold star if you have experience with:
- MySQL, RSpec, Cucumber, Git, Redis, JavaScript, AWS, and server administration
- high traffic sites
- e-commerce
- working remotely or on your own
- managing projects and teams
- customer support and writing
This is a full-time and salaried position that includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus a 401(k) and our honor-system PTO policy.
You can work remotely from anywhere in the United States (sorry, no international option at the moment), but extra credit for being in the Salt Lake City area.
