Responsibilities include: Developing and maintaining enterprise level web-based applications, ranging from static websites to database-intensive interactive applications. Additional responsibilities include assisting in other IT tasks such as desktop support, customer support, and systems management. This may include work like simple Ethernet cabling and routing, and more complex work like setting up a remote network.
The ideal candidate is a lateral thinker, capable of coming up with solutions to remove redundancy and increase overall productivity by creating solutions rather than just throwing code at a problem. Due to the nature of the environment, being able to test and document your own code is a *must.* Also, due to the nature of the environment, the candidate will be given freedom to choose what they feel are the best solutions to a problem and not be saddled by devotion to any specific platform. Most of this requ! ires understanding of enterprise-level application development, so entire systems shouldn’t be re-written in a new language, but new systems can be whatever can be supported by the architecture we have.
